Hey Everyone! Today I just got a small haul from my younger brother as a birthday gift. It consisted of four items, a Dior Addict Lip Glow balm, a Givenchy Prisme Libre loose powder, L'Oreal's Nude Magique BB cream and an eye corrector. He also got me a body butter from Fruits & Passion in Blueberry. It smells sooo good. I was actually surprised when I got these because we're not that close as a family, I didn't think he'd know what I liked and what I didn't. I was super excited when I saw the Dior Addict Lip Glow. I've been wanting it for the longest time now and every time I'm at Sephora's, I hesitate and look at the price and end up always leaving without it. :') I believe my brother deserves brownie points for this!
For the review, I'm going to write each product in a separate post and hot link them all after they're done!
First thing I tried as you can all guess was the Lip Glow.
Seriously, is that NOT the cutest tube packaging you have ever seen? It literally looks like it's glowing. I absolutely love this pale pink color and the transparency of it's packaging. Although I'm not a huge fan of the fact that the handle is a round knob; I like to stand my lipsticks/balms facing up so I can see their interior color and this makes it practically impossible. :(
I should have took a picture of the product itself before I applied it, now you can see streaks from my lips in it. :( Boo. As you can see, it has a sheer silky texture as a balm, and even though it's in a stick form, you can tell from the baby pink color that it's not opaque. It's one of those products where you apply a small amount and build up as you go to your desired effect. It has a light fragrance similar to Carmex that's not too strong or noticeable which I prefer. Any makeup product with too much fragrance makes me itchy :(
I did a color test on my wrist - look how sheer and shiny that is! The color is so cute and romantic. (Even though it would probably come out different on my lips..) ^_~ My lips are going to be so moisturized. The ingredients consist of mango butter and loofah extracts to help moisturize, soothe, and repair your lips. It also has an SPF of 10! (Basically in the sun, you should reapply every 100 minutes or so for the SPF to continue working.)
So as a comparison picture, here's a picture of my lips without any product. :( My chin is breaking out really badly because our AC broke and it's been extremely hot and humid the past few days. I took this picture in my room so the lighting is more yellow than the upcoming pictures, which I took in my washroom. :) Excuse the peach fuzz.
So after one layer of application, you can see that its slightly pinker than before. You can definitely tell that the dry skinned area on my lip are more pigmented than the rest of my lip. Probably should have exfoliated first! I think I put too little though because there wasn't as much shine/gloss as I thought there would be.
So I decided to put on one more layer, slightly thicker than before. Notice how much smoother and moisturized it looks? ^_^ The color may be sheer but when the color reviver technology is activated, it ends up being more pigmented than you think. I absolutely love how it makes my lips look so soft! It felt really hydrating too. The transparency of this product makes everything look so natural, which is my favorite way to go when it comes to applying makeup. The consistency of it isn't sticky which I find a lot of balms end up being. For example, during the Julep warehouse sale, I bought their strawberry-mint lip balm. It smelled so nice and I was super excited to try it. Even though it was a stick balm, the product glided onto your lip in a liquid like way, as if it was almost melting once it touched you. The colors would clump up all over the place and it was sticky when my lips closed. As big of a fan as I am with Julep, their lip balm was probably a product I'm never going to purchase again. After testing out this Dior Lip Glow however, I know I'm willing to splurge on it when I finish my tube.
